10u Central & 16u Central represented at ALL-AMERICAN GAMES in Florida

Nahla Hurst(10u Central) & Madyson Tolbert(16u Central) represented for the Dallas Tigers Softball Club in Florida last week.

Hurst's ALL AMERICAN team finished 3rd place while Tolbert's team took 1st!

Dallas Tigers are proud of their girls and look for great things to come in their return to the Tiger jersey this year.

10u Central represented in Gulf Shores

Brittan Faye Dawkins represented for the Dallas Tigers Softball Club in Gulf Shores last week.

Offensively, she had 4 RBI's and showed off her slapping skills while defensively she covered the LF area like a champ!  Her team finished the tournament 2-2.

Dallas Tigers 10u Central team is proud of her and look for great things to come in her return to the Tiger jersey again this year.

Dallas Tigers Welcomes Coach Baylea Higgs to the Family

Baylea Higgs - Dallas Tigers-Commerce 18u Head Coach

Commerce High School Head Softball Coach & Former Texas A&M Commerce All-Conference player Baylea Higgs joins the Dallas Tigers Commerce coaching staff.

In addition to joining the Dallas Tigers, Baylea Higgs will begin her coaching career this year at Commerce High School as the Head Softball coach and Assistant Volleyball coach.


As a player:
  • 4 year started for the Lions
  • Finished her A&M Commerce career as the all-time leader in games played
  • Finished her career as the program leader in hits, runs scored, stolen bases, and triples
  • 2x All-Region
  • 3x All-Conference
  • 2x Gold Glove
  • Graduated Magna Cum Laude from TAMUC in May 2018.

Gay McNutt - Dallas Tigers-Commerce 16u Head Coach

Coach McNutt, a decorated collegiate player, is also a veteran with 32 years of coaching experience.  Of those 32 years, 22 were spent as a Division I college coach.

As a player, McNutt was inducted into the Texas A&M Hall of Fame in 2011. McNutt was a four-year starter behind the plate at Texas A&M and was named to the All-region team all four years and earned All-American honors. McNutt, who served as team captain, helped lead the Aggies to a National Championship. 

Here is what Coach McNutt has to say about joining the Dallas Tigers: “I am honored and gratified to be a part of the Dallas Tiger organization where I will have the opportunity to lead and direct young women to greatness both on and off of the field.”

The Dallas Tigers are excited to have Coach McNutt join the Tigers family and look forward having her great knowledge of the game contribute to the success of our Tiger athletes. Let’s all welcome Coach McNutt!

Dallas Tigers Welcome DII College Coach and Legend Richie Bruister to the Family

Director of Dallas Tigers-Commerce

Coach Richie Bruister has been named as the Director for Dallas Tigers Softball-Commerce. Bruister brings along an impressive resume with proven success both on the field and in the classroom.

During the 2018 season, Bruister lead the Texas A&M Commerce Lions to their most successful season in program history, reaching 42 wins and was Nationally ranked in all thirteen polls, reaching as high as No. 6 in the Nation. Bruister’s team had an explosive offensive season leading all of Division II in On Base percentage and ranked 2nd in Home runs per game. Success is just as important in the classroom to Bruister with 11 of his Texas A&M Commerce Lions being Named as NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.

Coaching History
During his 1st season as a Head Coach in 2004 with Henderson St, Bruister earned Gulf South Conference Coach of the Year honors. Bruister experienced Coaching success quickly and after four more season with Henderson St, caught the eye of Texas Woman’s University. Bruister spent five seasons as Head Coach for Texas Woman’s University during which the team made four consecutive trips to the Lone Star Conference Championship & three trips to the NCAA tournament. After a successful coaching career at Texas Women’s University where during his final season at the school, he lead the team to a 51-win season (most in School history), Bruister became the First-Ever Head Softball coach for Texas A&M Commerce in 2015. During the very next season Bruister lead the team to its first NCAA tournament appearance.

Bruister is a respected leader in the Softball community and has close ties to the North Texas region. Sara Hurst (Hernandez), Director of Recruiting and Club Founder of Dallas Tigers Softball, shared her thoughts on the addition of Bruister to the organization. “We are excited to have Coach Bruister join the Dallas Tigers Softball Club! He brings many years of experience from the college ranks to the organization that will be a huge advantage to the young ladies in our club. I’ve had many interactions with Coach Bruister over the years and he has always represented himself with class and has a passion for the game that is contagious. He truly embodies the culture of Dallas Tigers Softball and shares our mission in creating opportunities for our athletes to become successful on the field, in the classroom, and most importantly in life.”

Coach Bruister also added his thoughts on joining the Dallas Tigers. “I am extremely excited to be joining up with the Dallas Tigers and the core values of the "Tiger Way"! I love the passion Sara has for running the organization the right way. She truly cares about all of her athletes, not only on the field but in the classroom and is a great role model for young women. I look forward to helping all of our players not only on the field but in the game of life!!”

Coach Bruister will be overseeing all facets of the Dallas Tigers 10u-18u teams in the Commerce area. He also remains as the Head Softball Coach for Texas A&M Commerce. Tryouts for Dallas Tigers-Commerce will be held on August 11th & 12th at John Cain Family Softball Field in Commerce, Tx. Registration for Tryouts will open soon.
